Honda SH 300 Scooter - The Current Benchmarker
Released in 2008. Somebody at Honda Italy made a decision a few years back to build a scooter from the ground up. They threw away or removed all the crappy old scooter designs and started with a clean slate - then; the SH series was born.Riding Experience
It was said that, Honda's target was total domination of the lucrative Italian scooter market. Which they where very much successful ! The SH is now considered the new benchmark in the scooter world with an engine larger or higher than 50cc.
As of this writing; it is confirmed that the Honda SH 150 was the number one selling scooter in Italy, the Honda SH 300 was number two and the Honda SH 125 was number three.
As quoted by an expert rider's review " Now in comparison to say a 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R I can't really say that the SH was fast, not at all. However, for a standard sized scooter the SH is the current benchmark for rapidness ".
As many who have ridden the Honda SH 300, it is indeed a scooter where You really really WANT to ride HARD. The improved chassis and tight suspension give the Honda road holding that other scooters could only dream of !Suspension
Fantastic ! ... very Trilling !
Rear suspension is a little on the hard side, but it suits the bikes sporty nature far better than or I'd say a lot better than the usual cushy scooter set-up. The large 16 inch wheels do a superb job of ironing out most road imperfections anyway. - Generally, it's just right.ABS Breaking System
The Honda SH series uses linked braking system which links the front and rear brakes off a single lever. This gives you added stopping power under panic situations when you're only able to get a single hand on the lever.Storage
At all times, it is best to keep in mind that Safety Do comes First always.
Now combine these linked brakes with a powerful and foolproof ABS (anti lock braking system) and you have one of the best brakes of any scooter.
The under seat storage area is tiny and won't fit any kind of full face helmet. Obviously Honda wanted to keep the seat height to a minimum and just couldn't fit a larger storage area without raising the seat further.Comment
The Honda SH 300 is probably one of the best scooter bike there is as of this writing and it's performance is well beyond the average scooter from it's class and category for sure.
The SH 300 is a lot of money for a scooter but, think of it as the Porsche 911 of current scooters. So value for money indeed, it isn't bad at all.
When Speed and handling is very important or when you needed the extra power to push further forward, then Honda SH 300 is for You.
