Configuring Linux DNS Services


click on DNS tab

   make sure that you're on the DNS tab of the Network Configuration window, which is where you left off in the preceding steps list

Type the Domain name of your network

   A domain name is two-part name separated by a period.   

   ex.: paunchy.net is a domain name.   

   It's the name of your LAN ex.: vinsky2002.net

Type the IP address of your DNS server

   IP addresses are made up of four(4) sets of numbers separated by periods

2nd DNS

   If you have one, just type it in in the next DNS text box

3rd DNS

   this is optional and If and only If you have more or multiple Domain servers

click Apply

   to accept the current changes made

click close

   to close this current active window

click Yes

   your settings are saved and will be activated the next time you reboot your computer
